Diversity Project • Priority: Engaging Diverse Communities to Develop Successful Workforce Development and Deployment Strategies • Activities: • Report and Present on Findings from Statewide Financial Relief Programs • Contact the Wellness Foundation and Report on Best Practices to Increase Diversity In Postsecondary Ed. • Engage Welcome Back Program to Conduct a Presentation Updating Committee on Performance • Report on and Catalogue Secondary Education Career Pathway Program Outcomes

  6. Secondary Education Project • Priority: Expanding Mental Health Career Pathways • Activities: (SAMHSA PROJECT) • Develop a Report Identifying Best Practices in Promoting Therapeutic Programs of Study in Secondary Education Career Programs • Partnering with CiMH, CDE, and SB/ROCP

  7. DACUM Project • Priority: Cataloging Skills and Abilities Among Mental Health Professionals • Activities: Conduct the following • Family Member and Parent Partner Occupational Validation-Completing • Community Organization President • Policy Officer • Medical Director

  8. Older Workers Project • Priority: Promoting Retired Persons As A Workforce Pool • Activities • Present on Efforts Involved in Developing a Funding Strategy for Piloting a Geriatric mental Health Certificate Training in Small Counties

  9. Consumer and Family Member Employment • Priority: Promoting Successful Strategies and Opportunities • Activities • Investigate if a Catalogue of Peer Training Program is Completed and Updated. Present Findings • Report on Strategies for Using Medicare Reimbursement for Peer Services • Advocate for Financial Relief of Peer Training Programs (Certificated, Non-Certificated)

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Project • Priority:Fact Sheet Distribution • Activities • Report on Current Efforts to Retrain Nurses, Especially Training That Focuses on Enhancing Competencies Among Behavioral Health Functions • Report on Current Efforts to Evaluate the Performance of Nurse Retraining Efforts

  12. State and Federal Workforce Policy Development • Priority: Partnering with the California State Rural Health association • Activity • Partner with State National Organizations to Move a Behavioral Health Workforce Agenda • CSRHA, CCCMHA, NACBHA, HWDD, OSHPD, NRHA, NARMH

Oversight of Mental Health Services Act • Priority: Workforce Education and Training Program Component • Activities • Report on Current CA and Federal Workforce Development and Deployment Capacity Building Efforts Underway • Advocate for the Development of a Public Mental Health Workforce Capacity Survey • Advocate for the Development of a Performance Based Evaluation of State-level Financial Relief Programs

Career Lattice/Occupational Mapping • Priority: Refining Recruitment and Retention Strategies • Activities • Promote the Development of Training Programs Focused on Targeted Occupational Growth within Industries (case managers, business administrative positions, peer support) • Advocate for Federal, State, and Foundation Funds to be Used to Support Behavioral Health Workforce Development ( R&R) Project Activities

Distance Education Project • Advancing Course Conversion, Accessibility, and Distributive Learning • Activities • Distribute Distributive Learning Modules Developed by the DMH MHSA WET • Research Cutting Edge Approaches to Distributive Learning • Report on Efforts to Evaluate the Performance of Distributive Learning Programs in Building the Competency and Capacity of the Healthcare Workforce

  16. Additional Projects • Career Pathways: Exploring educational programs that have successfully engaged culturally and linguistically diverse communities, as well as, the broader cross-disability community. • Report on Current CA Occupational Pathway Projects

  17. Additional Projects • Nursing Careers Project: Reinvigorating strategies to enhance the utilization of advanced practice nurses in public mental health • Leadership: Examining strategies for the transition of the current mental health workforce into leadership pathways
