  1. Should you freeze your eggs and embryos? Since 1984, when an infant girl named Zoe became the first child born from a frozen embryo in Melbourne, Australia, fertility clinics have successfully frozen embryos. Since then, embryo cryopreservation technology has assisted in the birth of hundreds of thousands of babies, with the same level of health and live birth rates as in vitro fertilization (IVF) with fresh embryos. Egg freezing in Mumbai had to overcome some unique challenges in order to reach its current status. When egg freezing first became popular in the 1980s, the slower freezing techniques used at the time increased the possibility of ice crystal formation during the freezing process. The human egg is not only the largest cell in the body, but it also contains a lot of water, and ice crystals that form during freezing can cause cryo damage to the egg. Furthermore, the egg faced the risk of poor fertilization outcomes after thawing and being combined with sperm due to the hardening of the egg's outer shell (called the zona) during freezing. 2. Embryo Freezing: A Deeper Insight Many embryos are created during an IVF cycle. Typically, only one or two embryos are transferred back into the female patient's womb, and the remaining embryos are frozen or cryopreserved. The most common method of fertility preservation is to go to the best embryologist clinic in Mumbai. Previously, embryos were frozen slowly, but this has changed in recent years. Initially, egg freezing processes were developed to give women (single or married) the same luxury that men have had for years: the ability to preserve their fertility without a partner. A cancer patient who wants to protect her fertility before undergoing potentially sterilizing chemotherapy treatment is the best example. This benefit is now available to women who are thinking about egg freezing for social or personal reasons, such as delaying having children to focus on their careers. When childrearing is postponed, women can avoid the negative reproductive effects of advancing age by freezing eggs. Egg Freezing Center in Mumbai

  3. Concerns related to Embryo Freezing ● One of the issues being debated is how to dispose of unused embryos, and as more people seek out IVF and embryo freezing, more issues arise as a result of unforeseen circumstances. Because frozen eggs have not yet been fertilized, they are generally considered to be the property of the woman from whom they were harvested. ● Embryos are formed when sperm and an egg mate. If a couple created the embryo and the relationship ends, the case may end up in court to determine ownership or a fair resolution. ● Whether you are a future single parent or a couple, there may be ethical and religious concerns to consider before beginning the process. Flexibility in Future Family Planning ● Single women who want to preserve their fertility through egg freezing may also consider freezing embryos with donor sperm or freezing both eggs and embryos. If a woman is certain she wants to be a single parent using donor sperm, she will naturally choose to freeze her embryos. ● However, no matter how certain one is at any given time, one's personal circumstances, like everything else in life, can change. Using donor sperm to create an embryo effectively locks a patient into that option. If she meets someone later in life and wants to start a family with that person, having frozen oocytes (eggs) rather than embryos with donor sperm gives her a much better chance of having a genetic child. ● Nobody can predict how many embryos will be produced from frozen eggs. Nonetheless, fertility specialists must provide medically documented statistics on the integrity and health of eggs after thawing, as well as expected fertilization and pregnancy rates per embryo transfer.

  4. The calculation and consultation should be personalized to each woman's specific circumstances, such as age, general health, lifestyle, and medical history. Modern advances in oocyte freezing have literally leveled the playing field between men and women in terms of preserving and expanding their fertility options (removing a woman's eggs is, of course, more difficult than obtaining a sperm sample!). Finally, well-informed patients and couples can make the best decisions and select the best course of action for their reproductive and life goals.
