  • The traditional family structure in the United States involve two married individuals providing care and stability for their biological kids.

  • The family is created at birth and establishes ties across generations. Those generations, the extended family of aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins, can hold significant emotional and economic roles for the nuclear family.

  • The two-parent or nuclear family has become less prevalent, and alternative family forms have become common. Now, the traditional families has had to adapt to changes such as : divorce , single parents families, teenage pregnancy, unwed mothers, and same sex marriage , also the increased interest in adoption.
