Committee Charge • Advise and assist the Coordinating Board staff in • 1 Developing statewide initiatives for meeting the Closing the Gaps goals • 2 Developing strategies for implementing recommendations identified in the Board’s report on nursing education • 3 Responding to directives from the Legislature (currently SB138 and SB 139) • 4 Recommending future directions to the Board and institutions on nursing education in Texas ACORN

Capacity Subcommittee • Membership: Barbara Cordell (Chair), Bunny Forgione, Marsha Irwin, Jan Keller, Beth Mancini, Ana Mejia-Dietche, Esperanza Villanueva-Joyce, Joan Becker, and Leonard Leos • Staff Liaison: Donna Carlin • Action Plan • Resend the Capacity survey to non-respondents • Perform data analysis on survey results and create a summary of the results • Develop recommendations based upon the analysis • Interpret results of the Professional Nursing Shortage Reduction Program ACORN
