PHASES OF THE MOON. When the bright part is getting bigger, the Moon is waxing. When it is getting smaller, the Moon is waning. When the Moon is more than half-lit, it is called a Gibbous Moon. When the moon is less than half-lit, it is called a Crescent Moon.

When the bright part is getting bigger, the Moon is waxing. • When it is getting smaller, the Moon is waning. • When the Moon is more than half-lit, it is called a Gibbous Moon. • When the moon is less than half-lit, it is called a Crescent Moon. • Lunar Eclipse-Earth's shadow falls on the Moon • Solar Eclipse-Moon’s shadow falls on earth

  3. The phases of the Moon depends upon the following things: • The position of the Moon • The position of the Sun • The position of the Earth (us!)
