Chapter 14 • Holden thinks back on the times he didn’t let Allie come with him to the pond (He regrets it) • He begins to talk out loud to Allie

Chapter 17 • Sally and Holden go to the show, followed by ice skating at Rockefeller Center • After they are done skating Holden starts yelling and screaming about phonies • Holden wants to run away with Sally • Holden cannot find a balance between his two worlds, he just wants to get away
Chapter 18 • Holden calls Jane, but no one is home • He thinks about the time Jane took a boy, who Holden found arrogant, to a dance • Holden believes that is what all girls say
Chapter 18 • Holden then calls Carl Luce from the Whooton School, they will meet at the Wicker Bar • Holden then goes to see the Rockettes • He finds them phony but likes the kettle drummer • Why?
