  8. Peace with God Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:1-2 (NIVUK)

  9. Peace with God • We were God’s enemies (Colossians 1:21) • We have been reconciled through Jesus (Romans 5:10) • We have peace with God because of Jesus • Jesus Himself is our peace and He lives in us • When we are united with Him (i.e. in Christ) peace is the natural outcome • We can’t manufacture peace with God but we can receive it

  10. Peace with other people If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone Romans 12:18 (NIVUK) And now, my friends, good-bye! Strive for perfection; listen to my appeals; agree with one another; live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you 2Corinthians 13:11 (GNT) Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord Hebrews 12:14 (TNIV)

  11. Moving Onwards • Do I use God as a backstop or do I commit my ways to Him all the time? • “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed”Proverbs 16:3 (NIVUK) • In what situations do I become anxious? • Identify the areas and bring them to God • Is there anyone with whom I’ve not made peace yet? • What prevents me from forgiving as I have been forgiven?
