  2. Question 1 • If you knew a woman who was pregnant, who had 8 kids already, three who were deaf, two who were blind, one mentally retarded, and she had syphilis, would you recommend that she have an abortion?

  3. Question 2 • It is time to elect a new world leader, and only your vote counts. Here are the facts about the three leading candidates.

  4. Candidate A • Associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologists. He has had two Mistresses. He also chain smokes and drinks 8 to 10 martinis a day.

  5. Candidate B • He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until noon, used opium in college and drinks a quart of whiskey every evening.

  6. Candidate C • He is a decorated war hero. He's a vegetarian, does not smoke, drinks an occasional beer and has never cheated on his wife.

  8. The candidates • Candidate A: is Franklin D. Roosevelt. • Candidate B: is Winston Churchill • Candidate C: is Adolf Hitler

  9. Back to Question 1 • If you thought she should abort • Then you just asked her to abort Beethoven.

  10. Makes you think • Not all genes appear to be what they seem. • Some that seem good are actually not good and some that seem bad are actually good.

  11. Homework • Due Today – Essay type 3, final peer review. Due in class. • Read chapter 17, pages 471 to 476 stopping at Air Quality is a rural issue, too. Should be already be done. • Also, you are to read one of the two articles and then write a 250-300 word opinion, BUT you MUST do at least two citations.

  12. Essay • Today we will spend most If not all of the period focusing on the essay. • We will pass around each essay so that everyone gets a look and makes comments
