  1. Mrs. Rhodes Library Letter Volunteers Welcome back to another great year at WPS! I am very eager to get started on all of the exciting activities I have planned for this year. As always, one of the highlights for our students is checking out books. We will begin check out on Monday, August 25. You can reference the following list to see how many books your child may come home with. • 4K & 5K: 1 book • 1st: 2 books • 2nd: 3 books & a magazine Please make sure they keep these books in their book bag when they are not reading them. We want them to keep up with these books so they will be allowed to check out every week. Students must turn in all books before they can check out other books. If a book is lost, it must be paid for. Fines for damaged books are listed on my web page. It is always great to have volunteers in the library. We need volunteers to shelve books, assist in class activities and work at our book fair. If you are interested in helping in any of these areas please let me know. DISCUS is a free database that is offered to SC residents. It includes BrainPop Jr., which our students enjoy in class. You can also access this at home through the following website. The username and password is was given out in our newsletter. Please call or e-mail me if you need it again. Book Fair is October 24 -31.

  2. Tobey Rhodes Media Specialist trhodes@spartanburg4.org 476-3174 ext. 4014 e-Books • I am so excited to announce that we have just added e-books to our school’s library collection! This is so exciting because not only can our students access these at school, but they can also access them at home. If you have a computer or tablet, you can use the following directions to access these books from home. • Go to our school’s website and find the link to my web page labeled Media Center. Click on the Media Center. • At the Media Center web page, click on My Destiny Library Catalog. • Click on the link to take you to the library catalog. • Click on Woodruff Primary School and then catalog. • In the “find” box, type in Capstone and in the material type box click on e-Book and then hit enter. • Now you will find the list of our 26 e-Books. Click on the one of your choice and hit open. Enjoy! We would like for everyone at WPS to be able to check out books, but you know your child best. If you feel like your child is not ready for this responsibility please fill out the bottom portion of this section and return it to your child’s teacher. __________My child does not have permission to check out books from the WPS library.
