  1. Chapter 14 Section 3 The Inner Planets

  2. Inner planets are small rocky planets that are also known as terrestrial planets. • Mercury is the smallest planet it is closest to the sun, period of rotation is 59 days period of revolution is 88 days, diameter 4,878km, density 5.43 g/cm3, temperature -173 to 427 degrees Celsius, gravity 38% of the Earth’s. • Venus has a retrograde rotation, it is 6.0 light min away from the sun. Period of rotation is 243 days, period of revolution is 224 days, diameter is 12,104km temperature is 464 degrees Celsius, gravity 91% of Earth’s.

  3. Earth it is one AU (astronomical unit away from the sun), period of rotation 24 hours, period of revolution 365 days and 6 hours. Diameter 12,756 km, surface temperature -13 to 37 degrees Celsius, gravity 100%. Earth has one moon called Luna • Mars is 12.7 light min away from the sun, period of rotation is 24hours, 37 minutes, period of revolution 1 year, 322 days, diameter 6,794 km temperature -123 to 37 degrees Celsius, gravity 38% of Earth. Mars has two moons called Phobos and Deimos they both are potato shape
