  4. Course Objectives • Spanish 3 Honors is an academically challenging and rigorous course, which will further develop the domains of language learning (reading, writing, speaking, and listening). Through this course, students will be able to communicate using sophisticated and extensive vocabulary and structures, with a significant degree of accuracy. There is also an emphasis on proficiency and the ability to communicate in spontaneous, real-life, authentic situations.

  5. Course Information • Fact Sheet – was sent home & signed • Grading – total points with weighted categories • Grades – student/parent portal • Attendance – imperative with block scheduling

  6. Grade Breakdown in Infinite Campus • Homework: 15% • Quizzes and tests: 40% (2-4 quizzes per chapter & a unit test) • Participation, daily class work: 15% • Performance assessments/Projects: 30%

  7. Curriculum • Situaciones textbook and workbook • Half of the textbook/workbook is covered, the other half is covered in 4 Honors. • Units 1-7 are covered. • There is not a mid-term exam. • There will be a spontaneous essay given at midpoint, and another at the end of the course. • The essays are part of the Final Exam, which is 20% of the grade for the course, as per district guidelines. • Each marking period is worth 40%. • The course is weighted .25.
