Nyquist vs. Compressive Sampling

This paper compares Nyquist sampling with compressive sampling techniques for wideband signals, specifically those defined by a sum of 20 wavelets. Utilizing a sampling frequency of 1024 samples per second and 150 random measurements per second for reconstruction, we achieve a mean squared error (MSE) of less than 2% of the signal energy. This work highlights the advantages of compressive sampling in efficiently capturing and reconstructing complex signals while maintaining high fidelity in signal representation.
