  4. The AIR Program Aims to Balance Classroom INSTRUCTION withHands-on Training + • You learn theory in the classroom. • Then you put it into practice in the lab under the watchful eye of an expert who has many years in the AIR field.

Local Air Contractors • Local AIR contractors and utility representatives sit on our Advisory Committee in order to keep the AIR Program in line with demand. • There are always jobs for students who want to work and go to school. • The Annual AIR Job Fair offers lucrative opportunities for current and graduating AIR students to gain employment. • Many local contractors are alumni of the NVCC AIR Program.

LEARNING ALTERNATIVES • Earn an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. • Earn a certificate. • Just take courses for specific skills. • Earn an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration and then transfer to a four year institution.

THE“MASTER MECHANICAL TRADESMAN LICENCE TO DEGREE PROGRAM”IS A UNIQUE SHORTCUT FOR MECHANICAL TRADESMEN WHO HOLD A CURRENT VIRGINIA MASTER MECHANICAL LICENSE AND WANT TO OBTAIN SIGNIFICANT COLLEGE CREDIT IN THE NVCC AIR PROGRAM BASED ON THEIR EXPERIENCE AND THROUGH TESTING.IT IS A FAST TRACK TO A DEGREE FOR BUSY TRADESMEN WITH LOTS OF FIELD EXPERIENCE.
