Expected Schoolwide Learning Results Castro Valley High School will prepare its students to be: Knowledgeable individuals who • demonstrate mastery of their courses of study; • integrate reading, writing, and mathematics across the subject areas; • practice organizational and study skills; • demonstrate basic technological literacy skills. Critical thinkers and problem-solvers who • access, evaluate, analyze, and synthesize information from a variety of sources; • determine reliability of online sources and appropriately incorporate them into academic work; • make decisions and solve problems by practical application of academic knowledge. Effective communicators who • read and comprehend a variety of materials; • listen and interpret messages in a discerning manner and respond appropriately; • practice self-advocacy; • speak and write in a respectful, logical, and coherent manner; • recognize, develop, and appreciate artistic and linguistic communication.
