Before you call . . . • Reboot and try again • Try it on another workstation • Test your Internet connection • Was it working yesterday? • Is this a new workstation? • Write down the entire error • Know the module (scan, search, index) and what function you were attempting to perform
Crystal Reports Errors • Install Crystal runtime • update.halfile.com • Your version <=9 • download Crystal 9 runtime • Your version > 9 • Download matching version • Crystal 10 or Crystal XI
Crytal Reports Errors • Does it work on another station? • Could a drive mapping be missing • Does it work for some records and not others? • Could you have a bad formula? • Unusual or unexpected data on a record?
Troubleshoot Printing • 99% of the time not a halFILE issue • Can you print a test page? • Are you using the latest PCL driver? • Are you using a driver that matches your exact printer model? • Can Imaging Professional print the image?
Troubleshoot Scanning • 99% of the time not a halFILE issue • Power off scanner and workstation • Will Imaging Professional or Kofax VCDemo scan the document? • Does it pass the diagnostics in control panel scanners and cameras? • Will it scan flatbed? • Does it need to be cleaned? • Check those cables !!!
Common Errors • Error 429 or 430 ActiveX . . . • Apply workstation components from Administrator-Tools-Options • Run update service • Error 0 • Get latest Kofax Viewer from update service or switch to Imaging Viewer in Administrator-Tools-Options • SQL Server does not exist or access denied • SQL Server started on server? • Windows firewall enabled?
