  3. Project goal To enforce gender equality in the labour process according to the EU principles • Pilot project in Slovakia - no tradition and little expertise www.rodicovstvo.sk

  4. Project objectives • To prepare a complex methodology for the gender gap reduction in the labour process • Tointroduce gender-specific approach in medical education and decision-making processes in offices of reproduction health www.rodicovstvo.sk

Expected outcomes • Survey and database on the gender relation in the medical education and in the reproductive health services (RHS) • Elaborated proposal of affirmative actions aimed to decrease the gender gap, disseminated among the experts • Improved gender sensibility in the medical eduation and in the reproductive health services www.rodicovstvo.sk

Activities - research • quantitative research on the gender relations in the medical education and at the clinics, particularly focusing an RHS • qualitative researchand gender analysis on the gender relations in the medical education and at the clinics, particularly focusing an the RHS • research on the gender context and identification: „what does gender mean for me?“- focus group discussion- deap interview www.rodicovstvo.sk

Activities - education • train-of-trainerseducation for gender trainings:content of trainings:- gender/sex, gender stereotypes, gender relations- gender and work – gender gap, reasons - gender mainstreaming – theory and policy, gender analysis, positive action, • elaborating and implementing of gender sensitive approach into medical education (pilot project on selected university) www.rodicovstvo.sk

SFPA • non governmental organisation (NGO), established 1991 • Member organisation of IPPF (International Planned Parenthood Federation) • Organisation comprises mostly of professionals (physicians, nurses, teachers, psychologist, journalist, lawyers) acting in the area of family planning, sexual and reproductive health and gender equality • Mission of the Slovak FPA is to support a responsible and cultivated sexual behaviour of men and women, gender equality and defend basic human right in the field of sexual and reproductive health.  www.rodicovstvo.sk

Slovak Academy of Sciences • Department of Social and Biological Communication was established in 1990 as a centre of basic research into complex relations between the biological, social and cultural aspects of human existence. • Mission: to focus on the communication which is both the subject of research and its methodological framework. • Research: - the issues of health and healthy life style (psychology of sexual health; specific aspects of education in relation to differences in cognitive development; environment and human behaviour; risk behaviour; life style), - the issues of human mental, individual, social, and cultural identity. www.rodicovstvo.sk

Gender Studies Centre • University based research and educational institution at the Faculty of Philosophy at Comenius University in Bratislava, established in June 2001 Goals: • promotion of scientific research activities thematically focused on gender issues and starting from methodological approaches created in feminist theories • integration of the gender perspective into social sciences and their enrichment by new issues, approaches and results • opening up the space for interdisciplinary discussions on gender issues from a historical perspective and also the perspective of women and men in contemporary society www.rodicovstvo.sk
