Preparecavity • Bulk fill cavity with Glass Carbomer® Cavity in tooth • (Re)mineralization starts immediately due to ion exchange with the natural tooth, saliva and pulp • Ion exchange will grow the Fluor Apatite and Hydroxy Apatite (FAP/HAP) crystals Glass Carbomer®, dentin and enamel will form a durable new structure which is completely integrated with the natural tooth • At the occlusal surface this mineralization will lead to an enamel-like material (FAP) • The fully mineralized tooth has comparable composition and properties to a natural tooth

In 2009 a class II restoration was made with GCP Glass Fill. In a second stage the top layer was replaced with composite (cosmetic reasons). (delayed sandwich) Clearly visible is the ongoing mineralization of the dentin. The dentin is mineralized into fluor-hydroxy apatite. The nerve reacted normal during treatment and is still vital.
