Recruiting Activities that Human Resources has participated in • Attended four (4) ACCESS Job Fairs – 2010-2011-2012-2013 • Participation in Job Fair on September 4, 2013 in River Rouge sponsored by the Guidance Center • Participation in a Job Fair May 4, 2013 at Wayne County Community College in Taylor • Posted on HFCC Website • Posted on Michigan Works Website

Other Recruitment Activities • Applicant Central Posting On-line • Met with Melissa Redmond from Detroit Employment Solutions Corporation • Met with Michigan Talent Bank • Met with the AFT Representatives when they were in charge of DFSE to assist in getting the word out. • We continue to work with local DFSE board

  4. Upcoming Challenges: • In May the DOT physical will be more difficult to pass – employees can no longer go to personal physician. There will be a list of registered DOT doctors who will have to be trained and will be responsible when they certify someone as being able to pass physical. • Also, this is not a Dearborn problem, getting certified bus drivers is a state-wide problem.

  5. In Addition we have held our job fairs in the District • Suggestion: • Hold a Dearborn Schools is Hiring – Employees Wanted session at any of the schools. This would be to recruit and assist persons in filling out an online application. We could set up a computer bank and meet and assist anyone who stops in. We could advertise and send out a press release.

  6. Current Staffing and Budget Data • 11 Full time employees (8hours or more) • 64 Part-time employees (7.8 hours or less) • 2 supervisors • Current Budget $6,944, 666
