The Problem is Real • AIDS in Africa is near Pandemic levels • The Epidemic appears to be an Endless Loop • Once Infected • Every sexual partner is infected • Newborns of infected Mothers are infected • Some of the Factors of the AIDS Cycle • Poverty • Illiteracy • Tribal/Local Customs • No Personal Responsibility • Unsanitary lifestyles

  4. Attack the Problem – Not the Symptom • An Endless Cycle can only be slowed or stopped by altering one or more of the factors • Three of the Factors that we Can Change are: • Poverty • Illiteracy • Tribal or Local Customs

  5. The Musungu HIV/AIDS Support Organization’s Approach • Attack the Problem ThroughLiteracy • Literacy Helps Overcome Poverty • Literacy Helps Change Dangerous Tribal/Local Customs

Literacy Attack • Contract with Schools to Include: • The Red Cross’ AIDS Awareness Curriculum • The Organization will provide the materials • Teaching Personal Responsibility • Teaching Safety over Customs • Send Poverty-ridden Students to the Schools • Provide Tuition, books, uniforms, and lodging (if necessary) We Don’t Expect to Save the World - Jusr One Child at a Time
