  2. Persisting Stick to it! Persevering in a task through completion; remaining focused; looking for ways to reach your goal when stuck; not giving up.

  3. Persisting President Barack Obama persisted by becoming the first black president of the United States. He continues to persist by trying to implement changes for the better of our country.

  4. Managing Impulsivity Take your time! Thinking before acting; remaining calm, thoughtful, and deliberative.

  5. Managing Impulsivity Students manage impulsivity by following directions in school, developing self-control and an internal monitoring of their actions.

  6. Listening With Empathy and Understanding Understand others! Devoting mental energy to another person’s thoughts and ideas; making an effort to perceive another’s point of view and emotions.

  7. Listening with Understanding and Empathy Oprah Winfrey listens with understanding and empathy. On her show, people tell her about their problems and she tries to understand, empathize, and help them.

  8. Thinking Flexibly Look at it another way! Being able to change perspectives, generate alternatives, consider options.

  12. Striving for Accuracy and Precision Check it again! Always doing your best; setting high standards; checking and finding ways to improve constantly.

  32. Remaining Open to Continuous Learning I have so much more to learn! Having humility and pride when admitting you don’t know; resisting complacency.

  33. Remaining Open to Continuous Learning We are all open to continuous learning. In a fastly changing world, we have to stay on our toes and learn all we can to continue growing toward success.
