  2. “Take the helmet of salvation…” Eph 6:17 • The helmet protects my mind • The major battlefield of spiritual warfare is in my mind.

  3. 1. Understand that my mind is Satan’s target • “But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.” • 2 Corinthians 11:3

  4. 2. He wants to: Discourage, • Deceive, • Doubt • Learn to recognize it when he speaks to me

  5. “Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.” • Ephesians 6.11

  6. When the devil whispers to me, it will be something that is… • Contrary to the Word • Devastating to my freedom • Destructive to you or others.

  7. 3. Resist the urge to make an agreement. • When the devil introduces a thought into my mind, it is called TEMPTATION.

  8. When I make an agreement with him, it is called SIN.

  9. How to put on the Helmet of Salvation • 1. You have saved me.

  10. Past - Justification • I am free from the penalty of sin. • “For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” Romans 10:10

  11. 2 You are saving me • Present – sanctification • I am free from the power of sin

  12. “…from the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.” • 2 Thess 2:13

  13. 3. You will save me. • Future – glorification • I will be saved from the presence of sin.

  14. “Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!” Romans 5:9

  15. “When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: "Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last.” Rev 1.17
