Flexitanks are easy to install and optimizes the use of the container space. The Flexitank can be loaded with a variety of non - hazardous liquids such as latex, wine, lubricants, additives, edible oils and many more. The one-way disposable Flexitank virtually eliminates the possibility of contamination and is easily disposed off without causing any environmental issues. Philton Polythene Converters

  4. History of the Flexitanks • Have been used for over 20 years. • Original Flexitanks were made of Butyl rubber. Very expensive to reposition, clean and repair. • PVC tanks were a cheaper option but still expensive to reposition, clean and repair. • Multi-ply PE tanks are the cheapest and most widely used single trip option. • Single ply PE tanks also used in certain markets. 5. Benefits of PPC Flexitanks • Simple, reliable and economical • Fast loading / discharging time • High space utilization • Environment friendly • No risk of cargo contamination • Low storage cost for empty tanks • Covered by a factory warranty and product liability insurance Philton Polythene Converters

  6. Disadvantages of small bulk containers Drums (Steel / Plastic) • High cost of packing • High labour cost • Long stuffing time required • Low space utilization • Disposal problems • Intermediate Bulk Containers • Not always available • Expensive • Heavy reliance for return load • Need forklift equipment • Long stuffing time required Philton Polythene Converters

  7. Disadvantages of bulk shipping ISO Tank Container • Not always available • High rental / shipping cost • High cleaning cost • Slow to position • Heavy reliance on return load • Parcel Chemical Tanker • Not always available • Slow to position • Require large cargo volume • Port to Port only • Heavy reliance on bulking installation Philton Polythene Converters

  8. Multi-ply PE Flexitanks • Constructed of different individually welded layers • Can have an internal or external barrier layer • Security in our unique testing system • Quality record that cannot be surpassed. Philton Polythene Converters

  9. Single Ply PE Flexitanks • Single membrane 1mm thick • Excellent for Viscous products • Good for products effected by moisture • Double welding system • Very Robust and strong Philton Polythene Converters

  10. Styles of Flexitanks- Top Fill/Discharge Philton Polythene Converters

  11. Styles of Flexitanks- Bottom Fill/Discharge Philton Polythene Converters

  12. Capacity of Flexitanks • Virtually any size from 10,000 litre to 36,000 litre. • Restricted by weight / volume / regulations in various countries. • Fill within 500 Litres otherwise fluid dynamics may break the Flexitank. • Brace the bulkhead. • Generally the more viscous product, the smaller the Flexitank used. 18. Cargo Loading Philton Polythene Converters

  19. Correct installation is essential • Easy process to install, however easy to go wrong. • The Flexitank is likely to fail if not installed correctly. • Our Insurance cover is void if all procedures are not followed. • Installation checklist is installed with every Flexitank. 33. Quality Record • Less than 1 manufacturing failure per 2000 tanks. • Every Flexitank End weld is tested to 1 bar pressure. • Independent audits by SGS surveys. • Independently tested by China Railways Bureau (only 1 of 2 companies now authorised to carry Flexitanks on China’s rail network) Philton Polythene Converters
