  3. Conveniences of Broadband • Save Time: Broadband operates from 10 to 20 times faster than a dial-up connection • Save Money: There is lots of money saving broadband deals to be found

  4. Conveniences of BroadBand • Convenience: With broadband you have instant Internet access • New Services: Once you have high-speed Internet access, a new world of possibilities opens to you, such as telecommuting, videoconferencing, and Internet Telephony.

  5. Asymmetric Broadband Connections • Able to use the higher speed direction for the download from the Internet but not needing to run servers that would require high speed uploading.

  6. Downloading • The process of retrieving information from any computer to your computer • Good for Assymetric Connections. • You can download information, music and videos from the web which is called downloading.

  7. Uploading • To transmit data from a computer to a webpage, like facebook, youtube, and myspace. • To upload, you must upload the file from your computer to the Internet, to the webpage you want to put it to.

  8. DSL • Digital Subscriber Line • Digital data transmission over the wires of a local telephone network.
