  1. Naviance-Family Connection Common App & Letter of Recommendation Procedures

  2. All students received an email on Monday afternoon regarding • Procedures for teacher letters of recommendation • Common App and Naviance-Family Connection issues

  3. Teacher Letters of Recommendation • You must personally ask teachers to write a letter of recommendation on your behalf. This should be done face to face • After the teacher has said yes, enter the letter of recommendation request on family connection

  4. Letters of recommendation • Once you have requested a letter of recommendation you MUST look at the “Colleges I’m Applying To” list to determine which must be mailed and which are electronic • = Letters of recommendation are ELECTRONIC • = Letters of recommendation MUST be mailed

  5. Letters of recommendation • For any school that requires letters of recommendation to be physically mailed, it is YOUR responsibility to provide stamped and addressed envelopes to your teachers. • Counseling will mail your transcript, school profile and Secondary School Report.

  6. Common App & Naviance • Common App & Naviance share information. • Naviance requires your Common App user name and password in order to submit your transcript and other school documents • Colleges listed on Common App & Naviance MUST be EXACTLY the same

  7. Common App & Naviance • You MUST also complete the FERPA waiver and release of information on Naviance in order for SPF to release your transcript.
