  2. Parking Challenge • At Search Crawley, we have staff car parking facilities of 28 spaces • Managers and Senior Consultants have a permanent space, that is shared on a rota basis when they are off on holiday, sick or visiting another office • They will email a central member of staff to advise their whereabouts and if they need their space that week Dorothy Stringer School – can you rise to a challenge?

  3. The Challenge • Not all spaces are the same size meaning not all types of car will fit • 11 of the 28 spaces are smaller • Requests change on a weekly basis • Managing the rota is time consuming Dorothy Stringer School – can you rise to a challenge?

  4. The Brief • Is there a better way to manage this system? • Can it be automated to save time? • Can you design something that’s accessible to all staff that they can update on a weekly basis? Blatchington Mill School & Sixth Form College - Year 10 Assembly

  5. Specifically…….. • Search want a system by which amember of staff can allocate the spaces and communicate this easily to all employees • It could be a computer model, a magnetic board with little cars, an Excel spread-sheet etc. Dorothy Stringer School – can you rise to a challenge?

  6. Further Details • This problem needs some creative thinking combined with logical problem-solving and clear ideas about how the scheme will be communicated to all staff • The final idea will need to be pitched to Search personnel which gives students involved the opportunity to meet and work with business people on a real problem Dorothy Stringer School – can you rise to a challenge?

  7. Deadlines • The deadline for submissions of entry names will be May 19th • Pitches and presentation of ideas will be in the week of June 16th2014 • For further details, see Miss Emerson in L3any time before may 19th Dorothy Stringer School – can you rise to a challenge?
