Recent tests of the MuonGeoModel revealed a crash in the Muon Spectrometer, prompting the temporary disablement of certain components. Critical fixes include resolving a type mismatch in RpcReadoutElement for version 12.5.0. Upcoming updates for 13.0.0 will address the duplication of RPC, TGC, and CSC surfaces to enhance tracking precision. Deformations, particularly B-line parameters, are strategically defined but not yet implemented. These parameters will be dynamically updated at runtime, ensuring corrected geometry is readily available for tracking clients.

MuonGeoModel: status and plans Simulation on slc4 64-bits platforms: Recent tests used to disable the Muon Spectrometer because of a crash in MuonGeoModel • Fixed an instrinsic type mismatch in RpcReadoutElement (MuonGeoModel-00-02-79 collected for 12.5.0) Common tracking EDM: Duplication of RPC, TGC, CSC surfaces to separate eta and phi views, so that generic track-fitters can treat eta and phi measurements in the same way • Changes to the code well defined; will go into 13.0.0 Deformations (B-lines parameters): not yet implemented but the strategy is defined (main contributor in the past T. Moore) • Implementation limited to the readout geometry (layer used by reconstruction client, not by the simulation) • All deformations (other than sagging) can be represented as displaced wire end-points for a rigid wire (some related calculation implemented inMdtChamberDeformationSvc) • MuonGeoModel will hold B-line parameters in a new class, they will be updated run-time by some service querying cond DB on a IoV basis • MuonGeoModel will use B-line parameters to correct tube positions and transforms with the methods provided in MdtChamberDeformationSvc • Corrected geometry will be transparently available to tracking clients • New contributors available in this field: Ivan Logachenco and others • No time scale yet
