  4. Characteristics or Themes of PDAS • Learner Centered • ƒAligned • ƒHigh Standard of Proficiency • Teacher Growth and Teacher Improvement • Collaboration

  5. What is included in a PDAS appraisal process? • Teacher Orientation • Teacher Self Report (TSR) • Formal Classroom Observation • Walkthroughs • ƒStudent Performance as seen in Campus Performance Rating and AYP • Summative Annual Report/Conference

  7. Teacher Self Report (TSR) • Gives you an opportunity to have input into your appraisal process. • Serves as a platform to align instruction. • Is a reflective tool. • Teacher Self Report Example Form (page 60-62)

  8. Classroom Observations • The formal observation will take place according to your district’s guidelines and is a minimum of 45 minutes. • Walkthroughs can take place any time during the year and may be any length the appraiser feels is necessary

  12. Classroom Centered Domains • Domain 1- Active, Successful Student Participation in the Learning Process • Domain 2- Learner-Centered Instruction • Domain 3- Evaluation and Feedback on Student Progress • Domain 4- Management of Student Discipline, Instructional Strategies, Time, and Materials

  13. Classroom Centered Domains (cont.) • Domain 5- Professional Communication • Domain 6- Professional Development • Domain 7- Compliance with Policies, Operating Procedures and Requirements • Domain 8- Improvement of Academic Performance of All Students on the Campus

  14. Investigating Domains Activity • Each group will be responsible for teaching their assigned domain to the class. • Include information about evaluation dimensions and evaluation criteria. • Present domain to the class. • BE CREATIVE with presentation. Example: poem, song, skit, ext.
