  1. Ice Cream Topping Ferris Wheel Bella M and Reagan M

  2. What we did? We created an Ice Cream Topping Ferris Wheel that dumps ice cream toppings into a bowl filled with ice cream. Cups on the Ferris Wheel tip using a bar we constructed. The whole Ferris Wheel is made out of Knex.

  3. Learning Expected Learning: We expected to learn how to build an Ferris Wheel using wood or modifying an already built Ferris Wheel. Actual Learning: What we actually learned was how to reconstruct a Ferris Wheel with Knex. We had to modify the rods of the wheel to a smaller length and reconstruct the stand to fight the wheel.

  4. Challenges • Figuring out how to make the ice cream toppings tip into the bowl without us touching the cups- We added a bar that the cups hit to tip • How to put the cups on the chairs and making them stay- We hot glued the cups to the Knex chairs • How to make the Ferris Wheel Spin- We decreased the size of the Ferris Wheel

  5. Participation At first we worked together ok but toward the end great. Although sometimes we didn’t agree with the others ideas we still completed the project successfully. Both of us worked on the project an even amount. If it meant one day someone works on the video and documentation and the other on the Ferris Wheel. We would switch these tasks around.

  6. Success We achieved all the goals we had planned for the project. Our number 1 goal was to modify the Ferris Wheel to how we wanted it. We then wanted to make the Ferris Wheel spin successfully. Then we planned to figure out how to make the the bar that would tip the ice cream toppings from the chair. Finally, we wanted to figure out how to create the chairs.

  7. Differences If we would have had more time and worked on the project longer we would have changed it more. First, we would have worked on proportions. This meant how much ice cream toppings we would put in each cup and for them all to be even. Second, we would have worked on slowing down the speed of the Ferris Wheel. We would have done this by using a bigger gear, I which we didn’t have time to get.
