  1. Initiatives Committee April 2010 Update

  2. Subcommittee Program Updates • Subject: Continuing the Journey Nov 2009 eventHi there,I just wanted to give an update - I attended the November 2009Continuing the Journey event in NYC. There were not too many women myage from the class of 1998, but it was a wonderful group and itreally, really helped improve my confidence. I was so discouraged andconvinced I was unmarketable. With all of the encouragement and resumeworkshop support, I felt so much stronger. After I got home from theworkshop, I contacted someone who had already interviewed me andrejected me for a job a few months earlier to see if she could help mebe considered for another job in the organization I had applied for.It worked! I got an interview and a job offer just a few weeks later.I started my new job on January 4th. I was told by several people thatI never would have been considered for the job without therecommendation of the people who had originally turned me down. And Iwould not have had the confidence to approach them and thensuccessfully interview without the BC workshop.I know it's a lot of work to put together these kind of events, and Ijust wanted to share the difference it made in my life.Thank you,Meredith MacDonald
