CDF in IPTV Architecture Document • 8.3 Content Delivery Functions • The Content DeliveryFunctions (CDF) facilitate the delivery of content from the Application Functions to the End-User Functions using the capabilities of the Network Functions. The main content delivery functions are Distribution, Storage, and Output of content. Each of these functions may have its own associated control functions. • Content is distributed from the Application Functions to the Content Delivery Functions before or during the service offering process. • Content Delivery Functions also support End-User Functions with the capability for playback control (e.g. trick mode play functionality with VoD and Network PVR). • [Editor’s Note: the text in 8.3 will need to be further reviewed, when the detailed description has been resolved.
