  2. OUTLINE • Status of local metadata catalogues activities • Data policy (existing and planned) • Existing integration with external infrastructures (DataCite, OpenAIRE, etc) • Resources

Status of local metadata catalogues activities • there is not a real metadata catalogue • custom solution featuring a three level storage • scratch - temporary storage for raw data locally accessible • online - storage for raw and processed data remotely accessible by the PI • offline - long term storage • DOIs are minted just on publications and not on dataset

Data Policy (existing) • applies to all CERIC-ERIC Partners Facilities • data obtained as a result of proprietary research • owned exclusively by the user paying for the instrument time • data obtained as a result of publically funded research • is subject to an embargo period of three years (may subsequently be extended for one year) • at the end of the embargo is retained up to ten years from its acquisition

Data Policy (planned) • at the end of the embargo period, data obtained as a result of publically funded research will be publicly available for three years • after six years from data acquisition an assessment of its value will be made according to • number of access requests • number of publications • data having value will be permanently stored and retained by the facility • no value data could be deleted from facility storage. The user will have to manage data storage and retention.
