College Applications • California State University (CSU): application period October 1st - November 30th Apply via www.californiacolleges.edu students already have an account • University of California (UC): application period November 1st – 30th Apply via www.universityofcalifornia.edu • Private Universities:applications period varies Apply via: www.commonapp.org 700 member colleges and universities in 48 states and the District of Columbia, as well as in Canada, China, and many European countries. Students eligible for a 4 year have been informed and we have been working with them since 10th grade. • Community College: application period open Apply via www.californiacolleges.edu students already have an account

SAT Information • The SAT consists of a 1600-point scale, with the Math and Reading sections scored between 200 and 800, and the optional essay evaluated separately. • An optional essay, fewer multiple choice questions, and no penalty for wrong answers are just some of the features. • The scoring model will provide enriched score reports to help you understand your individual strengths and areas for improvement. • Free SAT Practice on Khan Academy (satpractice.org) • Test scores must be sent to colleges directly from College Board and/ ACT • Many schools will not accept scores that are placed on transcripts

  24. Community Colleges • All Seniors will apply to Moreno Valley College on Friday Oct 4th • Staff from MVC will come and assist seniors in English classes. • SAT/ACT not needed to enroll

  29. Military • The Military is comprised of 12 Service branches: five Active Duty and seven part-time duty. Part-time duty consists of five Reserve and two Guard branches. Each branch varies greatly in service commitment, location and how its members contribute to the overall mission of protecting our country, though all branches are on the same rank-based pay scale. Knowing the differences between the Services will help you choose which branch fits you best. • Army • Air Force • Navy • Marine Corps • Coast Guard

Important DEADLINES • Oct 1st Application open for FAFSA and Dream Act • Oct 1st Application open for Cal State and Community College • Nov 1st Application open for UC and start creating Parchment Account • Nov 30th Deadline for College Applications **(goal for all students to submit college and financial aid application) • Jan 15th Send transcripts through parchment to Cal States (if requested) • March 2nd Last day to file FAFSA and Dream Act • May 1st Student Intent to Register (Deposit Varies). Last day to select the college you will attend. • July 1st Deadline to send Official Transcripts to the college you will attend via Parchment
