  13. PRIMARY LEARNINGS • Understanding children in their relevant contextual setting • To understand children one needs : • Empathy • Patience • Undivided attention (as far as possible) • Unconditional Acceptance • “Never take a child for granted” • Understanding children with SPECIAL needs

PRIMARY LEARNINGS [contd.] • Counseling techniques • “Each child is unique and has unique needs”, Building their confidence • The importance of Documentation and Record Keeping • Importance of Sex Education and awareness on Substance Abuse • Power of UNITY (Wardens, Teachers, Social Workers and Counselors)

FEEDBACK • Participants were appreciative of returns they received through this workshop- problem solving, counseling methods etc. • Participants appreciated the use of Hindi during the workshop and discussions. • They expressed a feeling of their minds being “DRY CLEANED” after the workshops

FEEDBACK [contd.] • Participants appreciated that the workshop was not prescriptive, however it provided possible ‘TOOLS’ to enhance the effectiveness of their work. • They were grateful for the exposure to a child psyche they received through this workshop and expect more of such events in the future • They expect future workshops on: Women Empowerment and Child-Parent relations
