  2. General Information • Originated in South America • Scientific name “Ananas Cosmosus” • Rich in Vitamin C and Fiber • Helps aid Digestion • Can be prepared in many different ways

Selecting Your Pineapples! • Available all year long • Should be fragrant, heavy and symmetrical in size • Leaves should be crowned and be fresh and green • Should be fresh and clean with no shriveling, discoloration or non-uniform ripening • Eat immediately after purchase since they are picked ripe

  4. Nutritional Facts • Fat-Free • Saturated fat-free • Very low sodium • Cholesterol-free • High in vitamin C
