  1. STONEONTA STEELE FEST
2007 November 17 & 18th, 2007 Sponsorship Opportunities for the Stoneonta Steele Fest 2007

  2. Introduction & Overview • Stoneonta Steel Fest is one event that both fans and sponsors won’t want to miss. Established in 2004, Stoneonta Steele began as a battle of the bands type event sponsored by WONY 90.9 FM and CUAC. The show featured 6 renowned bands Eve To Adam, Manowar, Chocolate Cannoli, The Novelty Lounge Pixie Twins, Andrew W.K. and who could forget, MiniKiss. • The show drew a total of 4,500 concert-goers consisting of Oneonta & Hartwick students and Oneonta residents. The following years of 2005 and 2006 only increased the number of these demographics, reaching an impressive 8,069 participants in 2006 alone. • Between advertising through WONY and CUAC, word spread like rapid-fire drawing an intense anticipation for Stoneonta Steele. This year, we anticipate a record attendance rate. Past sponsors include: F.Y.E., The Novelty Lounge, Wal-Mart, NBT and KeyBank, Verizon Wireless, Taco Bell, Etc. Etc., and Maxwell’s.

  3. History “The Stoneonta Steele Fest was originally started in September of 2005 to establish a performance middle-ground between underground college bands and renowned hard rock and heavy metal acts. Once music industry majors, Gregory Capra and Larry Nagunascruya put their heads together, they worked with WONY and CUAC to make this vision a reality. The Steele Fest took place at SUNY Oneonta’s own Alumni Fieldhouse with 3 SUCO and 2 Hartwick bands.” Thanks to CUAC, Oneonta was able to get The LeatherPackers and Mini Kiss to appear live as well. - Larry Nagunascruya (Founder Stoneonta Steele Fest)

  4. Testimonials “Between Hartwick and Oneonta State Colleges, we’ve always been notorious with most of the student body. We aren’t crazy of the fact that students bring bags of pennies and throw them at our planned-parenthood strippers, but then again, it still draws students time and time again. To say the least, we don’t have the best reputation. That is why we to take part as a Tier 1 sponsor with Stoneonta Steele Fest in 2005. After a successful event turnout with our signage displayed at primarily entrance and main-stage, not only do we have more students coming into the Novelty Lounge, but students now bring bags of nickels to throw. Now that’s smart promotion!” - Phil McCracken (The Novelty Lounge) “We joined up as sponsors with Stoneonta Steele in 2005. Almost a month after the 2005 show, we noticed an exceptional amount of college students opening cell-phone accounts with us. Our student demographics increased almost double the amount since the Steele Fest. We definitely recommend investing in sponsorship in this event. It’s a lot of fun and a smart promotional decision on the part of any company.” - Saul Rosenberg (Verizon Wireless)

  5. Demographics • Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, and Alternative Music Fans: • High school and college students ages 18-25, especially music industry & communications majors. Attendance numbers of 8,069 concert-goers and expecting to hit the 10,000 mark for 2007. • Born in early-mid 1980’s, discovered their appreciation for the genres in the mid-late 1990’s. Established their buying habits for band memorabilia, concerts, instrument retail, and beer. • Spend roughly $140 Billion per year on music, video games, DVD’s, cell phones, food, and clothes. Actively involved in the hard rock and metal culture. This includes both an extreme yet laid back lifestyle and rebellious image.
