  2. R3 highlights (April - 2010) • Provider VLAN: • Ethernet QinQ (licensed feature) • Terminal location settings: • Configuration of terminal location by coordinates • Added field for additional terminal info • New L2/L3 features: • Ethernet port to port configuration • Ethernet ingress rate setting per port • Ethernet port mirroring • User selectable routing of management traffic • Priority setting of management traffic

  3. Provider VLAN (QinQ): • Activated by license: EVLIC-EDGE-QinQ • Allows network provider to add an S-tag to incoming traffic • Access port will add/remove tags. Trunk ports will keep tags Customer benefits • Network provider can add his own (control & priority) tag on packets independent of customer traffic (S-VLAN)

  4. Terminal Location Settings: Customer benefits • Easier to manage the network as info about each terminal can be retrieved through the management system 

  5. New Ethernet features (unlicensed): • Port to port configuration: • User traffic on one port will be directed to the same port on the remote terminal. This feature can be used to separate customers or separate traffic to different sites without using user configurable VLANs • Ingress rate setting per port: • A feature to limit the capacity per port. • Port Mirroring: • Ingress or Egress traffic from one port can be mirrored to another port without disturbing the traffic. This feature is intended for fault finding purposes. • User selectable routing of management traffic: • The user can configure which port management traffic is routed to. This feature can be used to block management traffic over WAN or to other network elements • Priority setting of management traffic: • DSCP value for the management traffic can be set to prioritize this traffic during congestion Customer benefits • Improved flexibility for various network configurations 
