Did You Know? • Waste reduction and recycling both generate a host of environmental, financial, and social benefits, including conserving energy, saving money, and providing valuable products • Of the $250 billion spent per year on powering computers worldwide, only about 15% of that is spent computing – the rest is wasted idling • Electronics make up 70% of all hazardous waste • 544,000 trees will be saved if every household in the United States replaced just one roll of virgin fiber paper towels (70 sheets) with 100% recycled ones • 55% of water is saved by producing recycled paper as compared to virgin paper. IPED Best “Green” Practices • IPED no longer uses paper cups, plates or other products (except napkins) at any of the food service locations • Recycle bins are provided at all food service locations • Handouts are printed on 100% recycled and/or recyclable paper or post-consumer paper • IPED conference brochures are now printed on Chorus Art paper, which is 50% recycled content (25% post-consumer, 25% pre-consumer). • IPED is in the process of replacing books with CDs as the primary delivery vehicle for all conference resource materials • IPED recycles attendee name tags, as well as orders recyclable name tags from PCNametags The Institute for Professional and Executive Development, Inc.

  8. Accreditation Continuing Legal Education (CLE) IPED seeks approval for continuing legal education credits on an as-needed basis. State bar associations have the final authority on the acceptance of individual courses, but IPED will do everything to ensure these requirements are met when seeking approval. Continuing Professional Education (CPE) IPED is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors.State boards of accountancy have final authorityon the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit.
