PEACE SUPPORT OPERATIONS TRAINING CENTRE BiH • Established in 2004 • The first PSO Course in 2005 • A multinational project (17 Partners, led by UK) • New MOU signed in September 2009 • Plans in place for support to 2013 • Hosted by EUFOR, Camp Butmir, Sarajevo • A PfP Training and Education Centre since 2007 • Regional Training Centre since 2009 September 14
Mission 1. PSOTC will deliver internationally approved education and training to selected junior officers of the Armed Forces of BiH and invited international students, who will lead and train others in multinational peace support operations. 2. To develop new courses and seminars which will benefit primarily to the Armed Forces of BiH, but also other security institutions in BiH and the region.

PSO Junior Staff Course • The aim of the PSOJSC is to deliver internationally approved education and • training to selected junior officers both from AF BiH and other countries who • will participate in multinational Peace Support Operations (PSO). PSO JSC (AF BiH) 5 Weeks 6 Weeks 10 Weeks + + = 21 Weeks Found. Term Term 1 Term 2 PSOSOC ESOSC PSOJSC (Int.) For International Officers – separate courses • Participants – 25 AFBiH and 15 international OF 2/3 = 40 • English language – NATO STANAG: 3-3-3-3
Esential Staff Officers‘ Skills Course (ESOSC) • The aim of ESOSC is to develop essential staff skills of junior officers in accordance with NATO standards, as basic preparation for their engagement in international and national headquarters (HQs). Further training is required to prepare them for specific staff positions. • In the process of NATO accreditation.
PSO Staff NCO Course • The aim of PSOSNCO Course is to train NCOs in NATO practices and process that would enable them to support staff functions in national or multinational posts. • In process of preparation for NATO accreditation • Participants: 15 AF BiH and 15 international NCOs • English language – NATO STANAG 2-2-2-2
RESULTS • 10 PSOSC with 272 AF BiH and 76 international officers • 3 ESOSC with 77 AFBiH and 20 International officers • 1 SNCOC with 13 AFBiH and 8 International NCOs • MTT activities with c900 officers and NCOs • Regional seminars in BiH - 104 international students • Staff Officers’ Training in the Region – 70 students • 1 Higher Officers’ Training Seminar with 60 AFBiH officers • 40 PSOTC hosted events with 981 participant from BiH and 275 internationals
