Hormone - A chemical substance secreted by an endocrine gland or group of endocrine cells that acts to control or regulate specific physiological processes, including growth, metabolism, and reproduction. • Hormone comes from the Greek word όρμή , which means to set in motion
Hormoes • A chemical that sends a signal from one cell to another • Sends information between cells (hungry/thirsty) • They are produced by almost every organ system and type of tissue in a multicellular organism
