  2. Education for Sustainable Development in 7 Oaks 2009 Conference attendees: Evelyn Myskiw, Cory Juan, Sherri Denysiuk, Carol Moar, Peter Obendoerfer, with ongoing leadership from Peter Krahn, Jackie Molyneux, Barb Cerilli

Action Plan: SEdA Participants • Continue to build divisional ESD Committee • Explore ESD as a focus for Divisional PD • Share information, resources through divisional Website ESD component • Promote and assist School PD around ESD • Explore Eco-school concepts and grants • Include Superintendents and Trustees in ESD planning • Develop connections with divisional Mission Statement

  4. Unite to Change Committee Students, teachers, trustees collaborating in planning ESD in Seven Oaks. Research Component: Thomas Falkenberg (UofM) developing case study of 7 Oaks ESD initiatives Board collaboration and support for division-wide programming

  5. Unite to Change Initiatives Landfill Tour, Social Justice/Sustainable Development/Human Rights Fairs. Unite to Change Summit at Thunderbird House Earth Day Summits Maples Area: Environmental Issues and Public Service Announcements, Tree Planting

  6. Unite to Change Initiatives (continued) • Garden City Area: Art and the Environment, utilizing Arts Junktion • West Kildonan Area: Arts Based Event at Kildonan Park based on Andrew Goldsworthy • Participation in Sustainable Procurement Forum

  8. Unite to Change: Upcoming • Participation in “Peace Out Youth Summit” with Menno Simons College, U of W. October 1, 2 • Third Unite to Change Conference, featuring Charles Hopkins, including professional development for Administrator’s team, public symposium. Charles will also be featured at the Manitoba Middle Years Association SAG. October 20-22. • Ongoing work at Board Level on sustainable procurement, including energy efficiency in buildings and transportation
