Numbers speak … The year of hiring the first person with disability (PWD) 2003 Number of people with disabilities 350 Number of PWD who have been with the organisation for more than 2 years. 177 persons with disabilities including people with hearing impairment, visual impairment, cerebral palsy, hemophilia, wheelchair users and others Percentage of PWD 1% Type of disability and positions held by them Visually Impaired (100% blind): Software Developers, Web Testers, Training Managers People having cerebral palsy (70% disability): Software programmers/Associate Software Programmers/Associate Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineers Muscular Dystrophy (90% disability of lower and upper limbs): Managers for knowledge management. Deaf (100% Hearing and Speech Impaired): Engineers, Transaction Process Officers, Client Servicing Officers, Customer Support Associates

Working with partners for inclusion Supported setting up of an Office of Disability Services at Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore Partnered with NOIDA Deaf Society – supporting English literacy of 250 deaf youth and training them in skills for employment we now employ over 27 deaf people working in BPO and ITO processes Outsourced work to NGOs like Enable India which becomes a tool of indirect employment of persons with disabilities Partnered with Fourthwave Foundation to support a program aimed at inclusion of children with disabilities in mainstream schools Supported the setting up of NCPEDP (National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People) -MphasiS Universal Design Awards to promote universal design in built environment and web accessibility

Recognition In the year 2008-2009 MphasiS was one of the recipients of the prestigious NCPEDP-Shell Helen Keller Award President’s Award for being an inclusive employer for persons with disabilities MphasiS recently won the NDTV Profit Business Leadership Awards 2010 in the category of Inclusion and Diversity
