  1. ECYG FOR SUSTAINABILITY AND PEACE GHANA GODFRED NANA ASIEDU OPOKU (DTTC) DANSOMAN,ACCRA 1ST DECEMBER, 2010

  2. MYSELF My name is Godfred Nana Asiedu Opoku, a proactive and determined young man. I was educated at Kolege High School. After High School, I applied to study Tourism and Travel Management at Trans Africa College where I obtained a Diploma in Tourism and Travel Agency Management. I didn’t end there but I furthered to pursue the IATA/UFTAA Consultant Course in Int. Travel and Tourism Mgt which qualified me, to be a Travel Consultant. I have worked with a couple of Travel Agencies like Protos Travel And Tours Ltd, Star Holidays Travel and Tours, Eaststar Travel and Tours Ltd etc in Ghana for three years as until I got in touch with the EARTH CHARTER. Am currently with ECYG FOR SUSTAINABILITY AND PEACE GHANA and I must say that I really enjoy helping the less privilege in society by equipping them with some leadership skills and also promoting the principles and values of the Earth Charter through seminars, workshops etc. In this picture, I was giving a keynote address at program I hosted in Accra,Ghana.

  3. Green Environment I have always loved to see an environment that looks so green. It is when we have all agreed that when the last tree dies, the last man also dies then we will realize the need to plant more trees in our homes, local communities and even have nationwide exercise to green the environment. Looking at this picture, you realize how important trees are in our lives. For the world to be made a better place to live would mean that we as young citizens of the world come up with strategies on how to have more trees planted in homes. The major problem in Ghana on cutting down of trees have to do with development. Walking through the streets of Accra, you would the number of trees cut down by individuals as well as government al in the name of development of homes and the country at large. But I believe the trees can be maintained while we develop.

  4. Unity Is Power From different background, we were all brought together by this wonderful waterfalls. Looking closely at this falls, one would notice something. From the top of the mountain, the water is closed together but as it drops, it spreads. This can be translated to mean that we have different ambitions as we grow in life but a change can be brought to society when we have shared the same common vision. In our actions to spread the principles and values of the Earth Charter, we have to be so connected with each other and move with a common vision. We also have to encourage each other so no one gives up the fight for injustice, inequality as well as destruction of the environment. We need each other one way or the other.

  5. When we have agreed to share one common goal and vision, as you see among us on our trip to the highest Mountain in Ghana. the world would be a better place to live in. It’s always amazing when people from different background come together with ONE common dream. United we stand, divided we fall. We had to climb the highest Mountain and most of us couldn’t have done it we did it on individual basis. The courage we received from each other meant that with one voice and oneness we will get to the top of the mountain and indeed, we all reached there hence this picture.

  6. Look into the Future with Hope As much as we want to bring change to society, we must also have the needed skills and zeal to undertake such initiative. Though, the promise for a better world may tarry, it shall surely be accomplished when we look into the future with hope and hard work. The future depends on aspirations/plans we have and that when we believe we are the architect of our own future. A lot happens in our fight for future generation but with determination, we will make the world a better place to live.
