  2. Summarizing a story means telling the story in a short way. Make sure to tell the important parts.

  3. Last week we read “Sam, Come Back!” • Let’s think about telling that story in a short way. • The story was about Sam, a cat, who ran away and came back.

  4. Now we are reading“Pig in a Wig.” • Let’s think about telling our story in a short way. • Pig ate too much. A woman helped Pig feel better. Pig did a jig.

  5. Don’t forget we learned about characters! In the story “Sam, Come Back!” the characters were a cat, a dog, a woman, and a boy.

  6. Who are the characters in “Pig in a Wig?” 1. a man and a woman 2. Pig, a boy, a girl and a woman

  7. Go Back!

  9. Think about the character Pig. Which one is right? Pig must hate food since she got sick from eating. When you see Pig lick the bowl, you know Pig likes food.

  12. Think about the character Pig. Which one is right? You know this story is real because pigs are big. You know this story is make-believe because a pig can’t mix her food.
