Lessons Learned Collaboration between education and discipline faculty in teacher education is needed to maintain quality programs • Design and implement evaluation tools that address aspects of content-specific pedagogical knowledge • Integrate formative and summative evaluation experiences at various key points in teacher education program, not just during student teaching

  7. Lessons Learned Rubrics: Although the Alverno team is not prepared to endorse the current STAR rubrics, our early work in the project continues to shape our own pedagogy and practice, resulting in ongoing rubric development.

  8. What’s Next? Report observations, and make recommendations to our respective Schools and Divisions • Need for Discipline faculty interaction with pre-service teachers in relation to selected early field experiences • Think about how to incorporate more explicit pedagogy related experiences into content courses

  9. What’s Next? Continue collaboration between education and discipline faculty in teacher education • Add to/develop TPAC rubrics/narrative response questions to include content specific criteria • Continue further development of discipline specific student teacher observation instruments, for example, incorporate Common Core Standards
