  1. Foundations Care: Nurturing Futures For over two decades, Foundations Care has championed the well-being of children, young people, and families across Queensland, New South Wales, and Western Australia. Our mission is to ensure every child feels safe, accepted, and valued, supporting over 300 children and families through research-based, community-focused approaches.

  2. Why Foster Care Matters Urgent Need for Care Rising Numbers Providing Stability In 201932020, approximately 175,000 Australian children accessed child protection services, with First Nations children being eight times more likely to be involved. Between 2017 and 2020, the number of children in out-of-home care increased from 43,100 to 46,000, with 67% in long-term placements. Currently, around 45,800 children are in out-of-home care. Foster carers offer crucial safety, nurturing, and cultural continuity for these vulnerable children.

  5. Real Stories, Real Impact Hear from our incredible carers about their journeys and the profound impact they've had on children's lives. Grace's Journey JJ's Cultural Connection Grace transitioned from respite to long-term care, emphasizing the importance of self-care and leveraging support systems to sustain placements and provide stability for children. JJ, an Aboriginal carer, embraced cultural reconnection while caring for two brothers. Despite the sudden removal, he prioritizes maintaining their family contact and cultural identity.

  6. Everyday Acts Make a Difference Sometimes, it's the small, unexpected moments that create the most profound impact. <Don¾t wash the rabbitî 4 a simple phrase that taught us the importance of preserving treasured memories and involving children in decisions about their belongings, no matter how small. Simple gestures4making comforting meals, organizing fun playdates, or running everyday errands4collectively form the supportive 8village¾ around a child in need. These acts foster empathy and a sense of belonging, like Hazza, who truly embraces his role as a <big brotherî in his foster families, providing invaluable support to younger children.

  7. Positive Outcomes & Key Initiatives Youth Achievements 1 Celebrating success, from grants for university to art competition wins showcased at Queensland Foster and Kinship Care events.
