Objective: To solve systems of equations using the Elimination method with Multiplication

**Let’s use whiteboards today!

2x + y = 5

3x – 2y = 4

7x = 14

x = 2

2(2) + y = 5

4 + y = 5

y = 1

= 4x + 2y = 10

3x – 2y = 4

-2x + y = -6

What do we eliminate?

Eliminate x

1st times 5

-10x – 8y = -32

7y = -7

y = -1

Eliminate y

1st times 4

2nd times -3

8x + 12y = 20

-15x – 12y = -48

-7x = -28

x = 4
