Why does any perishable food or consumption item have to be well packaged and delivered? A package provides prevention, protection, and resistance from tampers. It might also be used to store special physical, chemical, or biological needs. Packages may also bear facts about nutrition, ingredients, and manufacturing. These packages are usually for consumer goods available in supermarkets, local markets, or international markets. There are different food packing for different types of food products.

  1. Food Packing Materials Why does any perishable food or consumption item have to be well packaged and delivered? A package provides prevention, protection, and resistance from tampers. It might also be used to store special physical, chemical, or biological needs. Packages may also bear facts about nutrition, ingredients, and manufacturing. These packages are usually for consumer goods available in supermarkets, local markets, or international markets. There are different food packing for different types of food products. What are the types of Packaging? Packaging is built up as a system usually consisting of primary, secondary, and tertiary levels. The primary package is associated with the structural nature of the package (usually being the smallest unit of distribution or consumption). The primary package is in the package in direct contact with the contents. The secondary package concerns the issues of visual communication and it is used to group primary packages together. While the tertiary package is used for warehouse storage and transport shipping. Taking the example of food packaging, these are the In the case of Primary Packaging, they can be of the following types: 1. Wrappers 2. Trays 3. Bags 4. Cans In the case of Secondary packaging, it could be of the following types: 1. Folding cartons 2. Boxes 3. Gable-top Cartons

Packaging plays a very important role in consumers’ experience. This is said with respect to the brand outcasting and the overall purchasing experience for the consumer. There are four major functions of packaging 1. Containment 2. Protection 3. Communication 4. Utility. These are the reasons with which the marketers intend to maximize sales and profits while reducing losses and wastage. All of the above functions are critical for enhancing the consumer experience.
