Developing a Sustainable Tourism and Agricultural System in Bradanica

This project aims to strengthen the local tourism system, enhance the competitiveness of the agricultural system, and create partnerships with other territories. By improving infrastructure, providing financial support, and offering training activities, the area of Bradanica can fully exploit its rural, natural, historical, and cultural resources. The project will help create a modern "area sistema" that integrates with the international and European context.

  5. The area of PIT Bradanica is located nearby the urban-industrial junction of Matera. There are various relations with the “city of stones”. For example, the manifactural sector of the area has been leaded by the development of the neighbour “wood district” in the area of Murgia. In parallel, the cultural and turistic sector could be strengthened by a closer relation with the city of Matera, which represents an important “ great attractor” for cultural and turistic flows.

  6. The EU-NET project represents, surely, an important occasion for carring out fully the development strategy of this area. The territorial cooperation is a necessary instrument in support of the prospective idea to create a modern and functioning “system area”, dynamic in itself and able to be integrated in the international and European context

  7. The area of the PIT has a very interesting natural and cultural heritage, even it is still poorly exploited and integrated with the turistic and hospitality system. The improvement of the entire cultural and turistic sector from a global point of view, will represent one of the main goals of the territorial cooperation strategy for the next programming period 2007-2013.
