  2. IDEA Reauthorized • IDEA is being reauthorized and is out for review at this time. If approved, the final regs will be completed by September or October, 2008. • Proposed Changes: • Doing away with Triennial Reevaluations and reevals for Significant Change of Placement. • ESYP will be decided through the IEP process instead of as a “stand-alone” program. • Significant interventions must be implemented and documented by regular education prior to referral.

  3. Discipline • After 2nd suspension, SBLC Chair will contact parent to schedule meeting and a BIP will be written prior to student returning to school. • SPED office must be notified when a suspension will result in a student’s accumulated absence of more than 10 days in one school year. **On the 11th day of suspension, the student must receive homebound services.

  4. Monitoring • Disproportionality • Timely Evaluations • Transition • 8th grade LEAP performance • Discipline

  5. Child Search Activities • Renata D Letters - Sent home in Spring and Fall • Document all child search activities
