  1. Everything You Need To Know About The Doha Doha is one of the most populated regions of Qatar located on the coast of the Persian Gulf, North of Al WAK rah and on the south of Al Khor. Qatar is one of the fastest-growing cities in the world and a major hub for the economic and political centre.

Doha was originally founded in 1820 and declared the country’s capital in 1971.It is a beta level global city, a city devoted to research and education and is home to Doha Sports City that houses a FIFA World Cup 2022 Stadium, a Hamad Aquatic Centre along the Aspire Dome. Doha was also the site for the first ministerial-level meeting, hosted the 2006 Asian Games, the 20th World Petroleum Conference, the 2012 UNFCCC Climate Negotiations, the 140th Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly and is also set to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

  3. Etymology: It got its name Doha from the Arabic word Doha which means roundness about the circular bays surrounding the city,s coastline. History: Doha was formed out of a small local settlement (Al Bidda) which was made in 1681. Doha was founded nearby Al Bidda somewhere in 1820. In 1997 the population of Doha grew from 89000 to 434000 in 1970. Climate: Doha experiences a hot desert type of climate where summers are extremely long, warm, sunny and winters are very short and warm.

Languages Spoken: Doha is home to several expatriates like North America, South Africa, Europe, Australia, India, etc. Arabic is the official language while English is also used as a second language, other languages include Tamil, Bengali, Spanish, French, Urdu, Hindi, etc. Religion: The majority of the Doha population are Muslim while Catholics account for 90% of the Christian population in Doha. There are several churches like St Isaac, St George Creek Orthodox Church, Malankara Orthodox Church, etc.
